[Objective] To compare the difference of arthroscopic ante rior cruciateligament reconstruction with hamstring tendon autograft versus allograft.[Methods]From December 2013 to October 2014,A total of 44 patients were underwent arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. The patients were divided into two groups:hamstring autograft and allograft. Autogenous hamstring tendon was used in 23 patients (group A) and allografts were used in 21 patients(group B).the mean followup was 13.2±1.3 months for the autograft group and 13.0± 1.9 months for the allograft group.Median age was 32.8±9.6 years old (17-58) in group A and 33.9±10.4 years old (18-63) in group B.All patients were recorded operation time, length of stay, duration of fever and total cost of hospitalization.Lachman test,Pivot shift test, anterior drawer test, IKDC score and Lysholm score were evaluated preoperatively and at the last follow-up. Follow-up MRI results were collected.[Results] The operation time of hamstring tendon group was less than allograft group (P< 0.05),but there was no significant differences in hospitalization time(P> 0.05).The fever period of patients in harmstring tendon group was longer than in allograft group, the difference was significant (P< 0.05).The hospitalization fee was lower in autologous group than in allograft group, the differen ce was significant (P< 0.05).Follow up examination showed that there were no significant statistical differences in Lachman test, Pivot shift test, anterior drawer test, IKDC score and Lysholm score between the two groups. The return to pre-injury level was good in both groups. At the end of follow up,No major complications were reported. The signal intensity of anterior cruciate ligament grafts showed a decreasing trend.Autolo gous tendon healed faster than tendon allograft.[Conclusion] The effects of reconstruction of cruciate ligaments with allogeneic tendon or autologous hamstring tendon under arthroscopy are all satisfying. But in ligamentization, autologous hamstring tendon have better healing potentia than allogeneic tendon. The cost of hamstring tendon group is lower than allograft tendon group.
