Medical Social Workers Involved In Treatment Of Patients With End-stage Renal Disease(ESRD)

Due to renal failure, the kidney of ESRD Patients unable to discharge the waste, even can't concentrate urine electrolyte to balance and regulate the body, which need to rely on hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, or replace the kidney to maintain normal life. Under the pressure of long-duration of illness, expensive medical costs and the large pathological appearance change of treatment,the physiological and psychological burden of the group is increasing with the increasing of the time of illness. Once sicken, the quality of life of individuals and the whole family will then reduce, but the psychological pressure due to disease, economic pressure, family emotional pressure and social pressure will then increase. At present, this kind of disease in medicine usually adopt the method of hemodialysis in order to maintain normal life.In this study, an ESRD patient in wuhan P hospital is used as the research object, guided by the theory of social support, using the methods of case work, relying on the "psychological counseling", "family therapy", "community involvement" and "resource links" service mode to reform social support system of the service object, expand the service object of life network, finally achieve the purpose of raise the level of the service object as a whole life. Through the evaluation of service process and service results, we found that: firs of all, the attitude of the service object was adjusted, Family relationships was eased, and the enthusiasm of life was improved. Secondly, the service object can overcome self-abased psychology, could integrate into hospitals and community life, and be able to normal social; Thirdly, the service object through the link resource, can enjoy preferential policies of the state and society, the economic pressure and life pressure are eased, standard of living, living standards is guaranteedThrough the social support theory research on the case work of intervention in patients with ESRD treatment practice, the author draw the following conclusion: First, this practice study, can effectively solve the multiple difficulties and problems of this group and the practice of the interventional treatment in patients with ESRD method is universally applicable; The second, in this study, several kinds of social support between both independent and interrelated and practice in the design of several service methods have their own emphasis and difficulty; Third, the study found that case work is the most basic treatments in ESRD patients and in the process of casework practice, it is necessary to adopt overall working methods of intervention, but also we should focus on the choice of intervention focus...
