Objective: The purpose of this study was to describe the actual situation of patients participate in decision-making regarding treatment and nursing care and what extent breast cancer patient’s attitude to participate in decision-making about treatment and nursing care. which kinds of factors influent breast cancer patient participation in decision-making concerning treatment and nursing care and the breast cancer patient’s attitude to participation in decision-making regarding treatment and nursing care.Methods: This study supported by Attitude and Behavior Theory and Decision Support Theory. Cross-sectional study were adopted in this study. 500 participants with breast cancer who will accept surgery from 3 III-A grade hospital in Wuhan from April 1,2015 to October 1,2015 were recruited into this study by the method of convenient sampling. The research tools included the general information questionnaire, Control Preference Scale and cancer patient participation in decision making regarding treatment and nursing care research questionnaire. The database was established by Epidata3.0 and analysis was performed by SPSS20.0 statisticalsoftware. Descriptive analysis, nonparametic test, chi-square test and logistic regression were used for data analysis in this study.Results: 1. The type of breast cancer inpatients clinical decision were investigated by Control Preference Scale. 64.8% respondents inclined to collaborative decision-making participation. The actual situation is 64.8% respondents belonging to the passive participation in treatment decision making. 2. 65.0% respondents hope to participation in treatment decision-making to a high extent. 71.7% respondents felt that they participation in treatment decisions on a low level. The extent of the breast cancer patients attitude to participate in treatment decision making is lower than they want to(P<0.05). In addition the breast cancer patient’s age,education level,number of children and TNM staging were associated with they participated in and their attitude to participate in treatment decision-making 3. 57.3% respondents hope to participation in nursing care decision-making to a high extent. 59.8% respondents felt that they participation in nursing care decisions on a low level. The extent of the breast cancer patients attitude to participate in nursing decision making is lower than they want to(P<0.05). In addition the breast cancer patient’s age,education level,number of children, duration and per capita household income and TNM staging were associated with they participated in and their attitude to participate in decision-making regarding treatment and nursing care. 4. The extent of the breast cancer patient’s attitude to participate in nursing care decision-making is the same as their attitude to participate in treatment decision-making(P>0.05). The extent of their participated in nursing caredecision-making is higher than they participated in treatment decision-making(P<0.05).Conclusions: 1. The extent of their participated in treatment decision-making is very low. Most of them tend to be passive participation. The extent of the breast cancer patient’s attitude to participate in treatment decision-making is very high, tend to be collaborative decision-making participation. 2. The extent of their participated in nursing care decision-making is very low. Most of them tend to be passive participation. The extent of the breast cancer patient’s attitude to participate in nursing care decision-making is very high, tend to be collaborative decision-making participation. 3. The extent of the breast cancer patient’s attitude to participate in nursing care decision-making is the same as their attitude to participate in treatment decision-making. The extent of their participated in nursing care decision-making is higher than they participated in treatment decision-making.
