Objectives: Although thromboembolic events play an important role in the complications of nephrotic syndrome(Nephrotic Syndrome, NS), the mechanism is still unknown. There is much debate about the diagnosis, incidence, risk factors and early intervention. To further study the thromboembolic events in the NS patients, we performed a series of clinical research. Methods: In the first part, all the patients who underwent CTPA and V/Q at the same time between January,2012 and December,2014 were enrolled in our study. We evaluated the diagnostic value of V/Q in contrast with CTPA. In the second part, all the NS patients from January to December in 2014 enrolled in our department were contained in this study. We studied the incidence of pulmonary artery thrombosis and lower extremity deep vein thrombosis. Then the medical records including demographics, duration, pathological type and laboratory data were reviewed. We analyzed the relationship between thromboembolic events and related factors through Logistic regression, t-test and chi-square test. Results: The sensitivity and the specificity of V/Q was 75.2% and87.6%. Both of the incidences of pulmonary embolism and lower extremity venous thrombosis in NS were 15.4%. The incidence of pulmonary embolism and lower extremity venous thrombosis at the same time was 9.6%. The thrombolism in NS was highly related with D-dimer, albumin, pathological type and duration. Its incidence is independent with age, gender, smoking history, hypertension, diabetes, blood cholesterol, triglyceride and so on.Conclusion: V/Q can be used as a screening instrument for pulmonary embolism in NS patients. The incidence of thromboembolic events was high in NS patients and the V/Q was recommended regularly. The thromboembolic events in NS were highly related with D-dimer, albumin, pathological type and duration. Idiopathic membranous nephropathy is with maximum probability compared with other types.
