Objective:To compare the defecating function of the children with Hirschsprung’s disease (HD) between Soave transanal pull-through and improved Duhamel procddures who underwent respectively.Method:It were analyzed retrospectively that the clinical data and the follow-up informations of the patients who were performed at the devision of pediatric surgery, The FirstPeople’s Hospital of Jining City in May 2009 to December 2012. The children are 49 cases in total; 23 children underwent Soave transanal pull-through procedures are clsssified into Soave Group, and 26 cases underwent improved Duhamel procedures into Duhamel Group. The postoperative follow-up time was the first, third, 6th,12th month.The informations of postoperative follow-up were Investigated with telephone, letters and interview at the doctor’s office. The indexes include patients’ weight, height, anal fouling, fecal incontinence, constipation, enterocolitis, laxative using, stenoses and fistulas, adhesive intestinal obstuction and etc. The childrens’ status of the growth and development, defecation function and complications were evaluated and compared between 2 groups. SPSS 13.0 statistical software is used for data processing, and P<0.05 of the difference is significant.Results:The incidence of adhesive intestinal obstuction in children of Duhamel Group is higher than ones in Soave Group (P=0.013) in the 3rd month during folloe-up. The rest indexes are no significant difference(P> 0.05), such as viariables of patients’ weight, height, anal fouling, defecation function and rest compications such as stenoses and fistulas, and adhesive intestinal obstuction in rest time。Conclusion:The results of the comparison between Soave Group and Duhamel Group are almost similar, but the opportunity of adhesive intestinal obstuction in children of Duhamel Group is less and worthy of support.
