Objective:By establishing the systemic inflammatory response syndrome(SIRS)animal model in rabbits with the "two-hit" injury of hemorrhagic shock and endotoxemia and which were treated with stellate ganglion block(SGB)later,and the changes of inflammatory mediator and organ function indexes were observed to explore the effects of SGB to treat SIRS after trauma in rabbits.Methods:36 rabbits were randomly divided into the control group,the systemic inflammatory response syndrome(SIRS)model group and the SGB group,each group had 12 rabbits.The control group which was fed with normal diet without any treatment.The SIRS model group which was established with the "two-hit" injury of hemorrhagic shock and endotoxemia.The SGB group which was treated with SGB after SIRS model establishment.SGB treatment was implemented for four times in 24 hours,with the first SGB treatment being conducted at 1 hour after the model established,and the other three SGB treatment being conducted every 6 hours.Observed:1.The changes of mental state,diet,rectual temperature detected before(T0)and 6 hours(T1),12 hours(T2),24 hours(T3)after model establishment in three groups 2.the changes of white blood cell(WBC),tumor necrosis factor-?(TNF-?),interleukin-6(IL-6),glutamic pyruvic transaminase(ALT),urea nitrogen(BUN),and creatine kinase isoenzyme(CK-MB)were detected before(T0)and 6 hours(T1),12 hours(T2),24 hours(T3)after model establishment in three groups.3.Histopathology:Three groups were put to death under anesthesia and pathological examination were performed in left lobe of liver,left lower lobe of lung and small intestine after 24 hours.Results:1.There were no significant changes of the general situation and all indexes in control group during the observation period(P>0.05).Compared with the control group,the model group showed poor mental state and diet,increased rectual temperature increased 1 ? than T0 in every observed time point(P>0.05),difference was statistically significant.2.In Ti,T2 and T3,WBC,TNF-a,IL-6,BUN,ALT,CK-MB in model group significantly increased compared with the control group(P<0.05);those indexes in SGB group significantly decreased compared with the model group(P<0.05),all had statistical significance.3.Small intestines,lungs,and livers were normal tissues under light microscope in the control group.Different degrees of inflammatory cell infiltration,tissue congestion,reactive proliferation of inflammatory cell and cell edema could be observed in pathological examination of the small intestines,lungs,and livers in the model group.The inflammatory changes in lungs,livers and small intestines with pathological examination were slight compared with the model group in the SGB treatment group.Conclusions:1.SGB was able to inhibit inflammatory reaction of SIRS after trauma in rabbits.2.SGB could protect the vital organs of SIRS after trauma in rabbits.
