Objective:The purpose of the study is to investigate whether the patients with stroke hemiplegia after unilateral strength training can produce cross education, increase bilateral muscle strength and improve the motor function of the lower limb.Methods:34 cases of stroke patients with hemiplegia were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, with 17 cases in each group.2 groups of patients were received conventional rehabilitation therapy, the experimental group was given the healthy side limb ankle dorsiflexion and isometric resistance training and 6 weeks training. The changes of maximum voluntary contraction(MVC)and surface electromyography were measured in 2 groups before and after 1 weeks training,A simplified Fugl-Meyer motor function rating scale(FMA)was used to assess the lower limb motor function. Results:FMA score of treatment group compared with before training and the control group was significantly improved after treatment(P<0.05).Treatment group of anterior tibial muscle IEMG and gastrocnemius muscle IEMG compared with before training and the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);The healthy side and the affected side MVC of anterior tibial muscle,as well as the gastrocnemius muscle were significantly improved(P<0.05)than before the training and the control group. Conclusion:In stroke patients with hemiplegia, the strength training of the healthy side ankle flexor strength training can lead to the increase of the strength of the affected side anterior tibial muscle and antagonistic muscle, cross education in the presence of strength training.Healthy side resistance exercise can improve lower extremity motor function, and provide a new training method for the improvement of early ankle dorsiflexion dysfunction.
