Clinical Efficacy Of Xin Shang Xu Duan Tang Combined With Short Segment Pedicle Screw Fixation Via The Injured Vertebra On Treating Thoracolumbar Segment Fractures

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Xin Shang Xu Duan Tang combined with short segment pedicle screw fixation via the injured vertebra on treating thoracolumbar segment fractures.Methods:From November 2015 to August 2016,60 patients of single segment of thoracolumbar segment fracture were inclued.60 patients were randomly divided into two groups,the Chinese traditional medicine(TCM)group and the contorl group,30 patient per group.Both groups were treated by the same group of doctors for short segment pedicle screw fixation via the injured vertebra.The contorl group was treated with routine analgesic,anti infection and functional exercise,Additionally,the TCM group was treated with Xin Shang Xu Duan Tang.The course of treatment were set into 4 weeks,with a follow up 6 months.Preoperative and postoperative VAS score,ODI score,BALP were recorded.CT scan were also performed postoperatively to observe the healing.6 months after operation,the curative effect of the 2 groups was evaluated.SPSS 22.0 software was utilized for statistics analysis.Results:57 cases were finally completed,of which the TCM group 28 cases,the control group completed a total of 29 cases.Comparison of the 2 groups of patients with baseline characteristics(age,gender,lesion segment,VAS,ODI score,BALP)was no significant difference(P>0.05).The VAS score and ODI score of the 2 groups decreased with the extension of time,and the TCM group decreased more significantly(P<0.05).The VAS score and ODI score of TCM group was lower than that of the control group at 1,3 and 6 months after operation,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).BALP of the 2 groups increased with time,and the increasing rate of TCM group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).BALP of the TCM group was higher than that of the control group at all time points after operation,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).CT examination showed that the trabecular bone grew through the fracture site at 3 and 6 months after operation in both groups.And the CT value of fracture site of the TCM group was higher than that of the control group at 3 and 6 months after operation,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After 6 months,the cure rate of TCM group was better than that of control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Xin Shang Xu Duan Tang combined with short segment pedicle screw fixation via the injured vertebra in the treatment of thoracolumbar segment fractures is conducive to alleviate the ache symptom of patients,assist fracture-healing and restore spinal function.The clinical curative effect is obvious.2.Xin Shang Xu Duan Tang can significantly increase bone alkaline phosphatase activity in thoracolumbar vertebral fracture patients after the treatment of short segment pedicle screw fixation via the injured vertebra,which is conducive to the healing of fractured vertebra.
