Objective This study is aim to obtain a suitable laser parameters by comparing the treatment effects of diode laser and compound chlorhexidine gargle in a cohort of patients who experienced minor recurrent aphthous ulcer(Mi RAU),and to investigate the relationship between the efficacy of different power lasers at the same wavelength. Thus, the result can provide support for the oral ulcer therapy. To compare the treatment effects of 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser and 810 nm diode laser in a cohort of patients who experienced Mi RAU,to select the optimal laser for Mi RAU.Methods 1.A total of 90 patients were randomly divided into three groups,30 cases each group(March 2015 to November 2016).In the experimental group,Mi RAU lesion was irradiated by 810 nm,300mw and 810 nm,500mw diode laser, respectively. While the control group was treated with compound chlorhexidine gargle. The pain relief rate, healing time and area of the ulcer and the effective rate of the treatment were compared.2.A total of 50 patients who presented with two separate Mi RAU were included in the study(March 2015 to November 2016).Each lesion was randomly allotted to either the 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser group or the 810 nm diode laser group. The lesions was irradiated by Nd:YAG laser and diode laser, respectively. Each patient was evaluated for pain index and healing condition of the treatment at the following intervals: immediately post laser and two day, three days, and four days follow up.Results 1.The pain relief rate was higher in treatment group and healing time and area in treatment group was significantly lower than that in control group(P<0.05);The pain relief rate of 810 nm,300 mw group was best. There were significant differences in the total effective rate between the treatment group and the control group(P<0.05).There is no significant differences in the total effective rate between 810 nm,300mw group and 810 nm,500mw group(P>0.05).2.No significant difference was observed between the two groups with respect to pain index on the immediately post laser and two day,and four days follow up(P>0.05),there were significant difference on three days(P<0.05).No significant difference with respect to healing time(P>0.05).Conclusions 1.Diode laser to treat Mi RAU can obviously relieve pain, and promote the healing of ulcer. The pain relief rate of 810 nm,300mw group was best.2.Both 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser and 800 nm diode laser were equally effective in relieving pain associated with Mi RAU.Both groups showed significant reduction in healing time.Diode laser treatment Mi RAU had higher efficiency, worthy of widely use.
