| Objective: To compare the clinical effects of iRoot SP with matched-taper single cone obturation and Zinc Oxide iodoform sealer with cold lateral condensation,providing the basis for the iRoot SP application in clinic.Methods: 56 cases of pulpitis were chosen in this study.The 56 teeth were divided into experimental group(iRoot SP+matched-taper single cone obturation)and control group(ZOE+cold lateral condensation).The case inclusion standards were shown as follows:(1)patients with favourable physical and mental condition,without history of drag allergy or severe diseases;(2)the teeth without treatment before this visit.The cases with extreme curve root canals,calcified root canals,serious periodontitis or root fractures were excluded.The teeth diagnosed as pulptis were treated under local anesthesia.At first,opening the dental pulp and use 10#or 15# K file to search the root canals,after measuring the work length,the BLX files were used to take the root canal preparation with EDTA gel to lubricate the root canals.3%H2O2和 0.9%NaCl were used to swill root canals after changing files.After preparation,gutta-percha points were placed into root canals according to the work length,X-ray images were taken to check the length.Then,the teeth in experimental group were filled with iRoot SP using matched-taper single cone obturation:injecting iRoot SP into root canals according to specification,placed the gutta-percha points of 0.06 taper into root canals according to work length,at last,removing superfluous gutta-percha.The teeth in control group were filled with Zinc Oxide iodoform sealers using lateral compaction technique.X-ray images were taken after operations to check the quality of treatment.Rocording the time of root filling.1 week after treatment is the observation period.Explaining to the patients that there may be pain occurrence.SPSS 17.0 is used to compare the filling time and index of pain using these two sealers.Results: Within 1 week after surgery,pain incidences in experimental group and control group were 3.6% and 25% respectively,which showed significant difference(P<0.05);The different between experimental group and control group was statistically significant(P<0.05)when pain degree reached grade Ⅱ.The range of filling time in experimental group was(97.55±25.75)s,the average time was 97.7s.The range of filling time in control group was(112.6±33.3)s,the average time was 119.1s.The difference between the groups was statistically significant(P<0.05);Conclusions: The use of iRoot SP can reduce the postoperative pain significantly,especially in the grade pain.And,the time of matched Ⅱ-taper single cone obturation with iRoot SP is obviously shorter than cold lateral condensation with Zinc Oxide iodoform sealer. |
