Short Chain Chlorinated Paraffins(SCCPs),which are a class of chlorinated derivatives of straight chain n-alkanes with very complex composition and structure that include 10 to 13 carbon atoms.The degree of chlorination is from 16% to 78%.SCCPs have advantages of good flame retardant,good electrical insulation,low volatile and low price,etc.Furtherly,SCCPs are important products for the chlor-alkali industry to balance excess chlorine.Therefore,SCCPs are widely used in industrial production,mainly used for metal cutting fluid,leather fatliquoring agent,flame retardant polymeric materials agent,PVC increase plasticizer,paint plasticizer,adhesives,etc.Short Chain Chlorinated Paraffins(SCCPs)are a new kind of organic pollutants which have a certain biological toxicity,persistence,bioaccumulation and long-distance migration.They have been included in the annex to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants.China is the world's largest producer and user of SCCPs,but the study of risk defense and control for ecological environment and human health on the SCCPs is in infancy,and the reported data is less.The risk assessment of SCCPs on human health will be the focus of attention and research,and the establishment of its analytical methods and environmental monitoring are of great significance.In the paper,the Accelerated Solvent Extraction(ASE)is applied to extract SCCPs in breast milk.At the same time,the technologies of off-line GPC,packed chromatography column purification and GPC–GC/ECNI–MS are also used in the experiment to measure the determination of SCCPs in breast milk.In addition,the distribution characteristics of SCCPs homologues is also studied.The experiment result shows that the average blank recovery ratio of the method are 78.2%,83.2% and 75.3%,and the relative standard deviation(RSD,n=7)are 5.7%?7.8% and 13.2%,respectively.The use of online GPC simplifies the pre-processing procedure,shortens the time of pretreatment,concentrates the sample concentration,increases the injection volume and improves the sensitivity of the instrument.The experiment results indicates that the content of SCCPs in breast milk presents a trend of gradual stability after a dramatical reduction with the extension of lactation period,and is at the same level as those reported abroad.The distribution mode of SCCPshomologues in breast milk samples at different stages are similar,whose main components are Cl6-SCCPs / Cl7-SCCPs with 10 and 11 carbon atoms.The percentages of homologues also shows a gradual decrease along with the increase of carbon atoms and chlorine atoms.In conclusion,an analysis and detection method of SCCPs in breast milk samples is established in this paper,this method can not only be used for the analysis and detection of SCCPs in food samples,air samples and animal tissues samples,etc,but also provide certain technical help for studying the hazards of SCCPs to the ecological environment and human health.
