Cataloging Of Biodiversity-Related Traditional Knowledge And Case Study Of Traditional Medicine Of Dai

China is rich in biodiversity,people of each ethnic group create many excellent biological diversity related traditional knowledge in the long-term practice,who are brave and hardworking.After the changes of the times,these traditional knowledge still has important economic value and special meanings in ecology and culture.With the in-depth study on the value and significance of the traditional knowledge related to biodiversity,its protection has become a hot issue in the fields international and domestic related.However,biodiversity related traditional knowledge of minority is suffering an unprecedented threat,because of the influence of foreign culture,the change of social life,the change of values and the particularity of traditional knowledge.Dai folk traditional knowledge is the first to bear the brunt.Dai people engaged in agricultural production in a long history,the ancestors of Dai ethnic group created biological diversity related traditional knowledge with distinctive national characteristics in the early collection and hunting and the long era of agricultural economy followed by,which is formed in the process of adapting to nature and managing natural resources.These traditional knowledge is important not only for the protection of local biodiversity,but also to promote the sustainable development of social economy.There is a 60 days field survey.This study is based on the previous literature review from the perspective of ethnoecology.During the investigation,I collected data from local agencies such as museums,libraries;investigated 30 villages;look into 12 larger farm product market and many smaller;interview 48 key figures Including the village cadres,all kinds of traditional knowledge inheritors,the old man of noble character and high prestige;issue and complete 300 questionnaires;visited Government Unit and departments of the state and counties,such as bureau of education,Health Bureau,agriculture bureau,forestry bureau.The main results are summarized as follows,after analysis and research all these traditional knowledge related data and information.1.This study collates and catalogs 802 biodiversity related traditional knowledge of Dai people by a lot of literature review and field survey,including 365 traditional agricultural genetic resources(45.51%),363 traditional medicine knowledge(45.26%),29traditional technology and lifestyle practices(3.62%),28 traditional culture(3.49%),17geographical indications products(2.12%),it will be the foundation for the establishment of Dai traditional knowledge database and the promotion of benefit sharing.2.The survey about traditional doctors of Dai ethnic group in Xishuangbanna show that most of them are men(96%).They are mainly concentrated in the 50-69 years old,young people are less,there is an aging trend.The level of education is generally low,93%are primary school graduates.64%of them have no inheritor.Many of them specialize in the treatment of rheumatic diseases bone injuries and internal medicine.The number of traditional doctors of Dai ethnic group decreased year by year,the Dai traditional knowledge is losing quickly.3.From the 300 residents survey by questionnaire in Xishuangbanna,With the traditional medicine been replaced by the modern medical system,traditional knowledge of Dai traditional medicine is facing serious challenges.There are many factors affecting the development of traditional medicine of Dai,such as the introduction of Western medicine and the establishment of modern medical system,the lack of relevant policy support,decrease of important traditional medicinal materials,the limitation of traditional medical skills.The government's supports plays a great role in promoting the inheritance and protection of traditional medicine knowledge of Dai ethnic group.4.Strategies for promoting the protection and inheritance of the biodiversity related traditional knowledge of Dai as followed:?Strengthen the awareness of protection of traditional knowledge;?Strengthen the protection and sustainable utilization of Dai traditional wild resources;? Promote the application of traditional knowledge and benefit sharing.The study is the first time to systematically investigate,reorganize and catalogue the biodiversity related traditional knowledge of Dai people.It provides a scientific basis for access and the benefit sharing of traditional knowledge of Dai people.Through the study of Dai biodiversity related traditional knowledge,recognize that it is the comprehensive knowledge system of natural ecology and human culture interaction,which is accumulating in the historical dimension and deposition,has profound scientific connotation,showing strong vitality and modern value.
