Objective:The aim of this meta-analysis was to assess the prognostic value of interim and post-treatment 18Fluorine-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography(18F-FDG PET)in patients with follicular lymphoma(FL).Methods:Systematic literature searches about 18F-FDG PET in prognosis evaluation of FL were acquired to PubMed?Cochrane?CNKI?VIP ? Wan Fang ? CBM from January 2006 to December 2016.Quality assessment was conducted for all of including studies. The data of hazard ratios(HRs)with 95% confidence interval(95% CI)was extracted from each study.Statistical analysis was performed with Stata Version 12.0.We used fixed effect models except that random model was used for post-treatment PET on predictive value of overall survival(OS),after the pooled measure of heterogeneity between studies.Potential publication bias was evaluated by examining for funnel plot and Egger's Test.In order to conduct the sensitivity analysis,we deleted one research each time and then observed the impact on the combined effect.Progression free survival(PFS)and OS were included asthe endpoint to evaluate prognostic significance of PET.Result:Twelve studies with a total of 1427 patients were included.Progression free survival in FL patients with interim PET-negative results was not significantly different from those with interim PET-positive results(HR=1.67,95%CI:0.96-2.90,p=0.071).The pooled survival data demonstrated PFS and OS were worse for end-of-treatment PET-positive compared with PET-negative FL patients(HR=2.14,95%CI:1.83-2.49,p=0.000;HR=3.21,95%CI:1.32-8.34,p=0.011,re spectively). The points of the funnel plots were symmetric distributed, and the p value for Egger's test was 0.284,which means that publication bias was not found in our analysis. It showed that all of the researches had a little influence on the total combined value, which were uniformly distributed in the both sides of the total combined effect.Conclusion:1.There is no prognostic value of interim PET on PFS in FL patients.2.There is prognostic value of end-of-treatment PET on PFS and OS in FL patients.
