Objectives: To explore the diagnosis value of double contrast-enhanced ultrasonography(DCEUS)for benign and malignant gastric wall thickened lesions. Methods: The DCEUS features of 89 gastric wall thickened lesions were retrospectively analyzed.Post-operative pathological or gastroscopic biopsy pathological results were available for all lesions as comparison.Mainly analyzed the features of gastric wall thickened lesions on the DCEUS,including gastric wall stratification,comb-teeth-like vessels, large tortuous vessels, the order of enhancement, the wash-in velocity of the contrast agent, enhancement degree in early phase, enhancement homogeneity. Results: There were 89 cases of gastric wall thickened lesions totally,35 cases were malignant, all of that were gastric cancer. The gastric cancer on the DCEUS mainly showed the loss of gastric wall stratification, the absence of comb-teeth-like vessels, but with the large tortuous vessels, enhancing in disorder and enhancing earlier than surrounding normal gastric tissue;54 cases were benign lesions, including 41 cases of gastritis,9 cases of gastric ulcers,4cases of gastric hyperplastic polyps. In these cases, gastric wall stratification and comb-teeth-like vessels were preserved, without the large tortuous vessels, and enhancing in order, enhancing simultaneously or later than surrounding normal gastric tissue. There was statistic difference(P < 0.05)between benign and malignant gastric lesions in the features of DCEUS as mentioned. Conclusions: There is higher value with the features of DCEUS in identifying the diagnosis for benign and malignant gastric wall thickened lesions.
