Objective Maca was mainly planted in Peru region of the South America,which had lots of healthcare effects.In recent years,the introduction of Maca has been successfully processed in Yunnan and other places of China.Its main ingredients and pharmacological effects became a hot research.In this study,the determination of main components in Maca was established,exploring the difference of main components in 3 color Maca,which provided a reference for the quality study of Maca.Preparation of Maca chewable tablets could improve the current status of Maca use.We inspected the quality of Maca chewable tablets and analyzed the antioxidant activity of Maca.Methods The content of main components was determined in Maca.HPLC was used to determine the content of benzyl-linolamide in 3 color Maca.GC-MS was used to detect the composition of fatty acids and volatile oils.The content of Maca amino acids were detected by amino acid automatic analyzer.The contents of trace elements(Ca,Fe,Zn)were determined by atomic spectrophotometry.The orthogonal design experiment was used to optimize the extraction process of Maca to select the best prescription.The Maca chewable tablets were prepared by wet granulation tabletting method and the content of benzyl-linolamide was determined.Finally,the antioxidant activity of Maca fatty acid,volatile oil andMaca chewable tablets were analyzed by DPPH in vitro.Results 33 kinds of fatty acids had been detected in 3 color Maca,including 18 kinds in yellow Maca,12 kinds in purple Maca and 32 kinds in black Maca.The unsaturated fatty acids were mainly linolenic acid,linoleic acid and oleic acid.35 kinds of volatile oil components had been detected,including 26 kinds in yellow Maca,15 kinds in purple Maca,17 kinds in black Maca.The main components were phenylacetonitrile and phenyl isothiocyanate.Benzyl-linolamide content: 0.0098% in yellow Maca,0.0104% in purple Maca,0.0117% in black Maca.Total amino acids: 32.7 mg/100 g in yellow Maca,70.6 mg/100 g in purple Maca,67.6 mg/100 g in black Maca.The content of trace elements in 3 Maca,Ca: 2.234 mg/g in yellow Maca,2.04 mg/g in purple Maca,1.84 mg/g in black Maca;Fe: 0.13 mg/g in Yellow Maca,0.14 mg/g in purple Maca,0.15 mg/g in black Maca;Zn: 24.79 μg/g in Yellow Maca,28.28 μg/g in purple Maca,29.44 μg/g in black Maca.The best prescription was identified as cyclodextrin inclusion compound of Maca volatile oil was 10%,extract was 50%,mannitol was 39%,magnesium stearate was 1%.There was 60.63 μg benzyl-linolamide in each Maca chewable tablet.A certain antioxidant activity in vitro had been found in Maca fatty acids,extract in volatile oil and Maca chewable tablets.Conclusions The active ingredients were rich in Maca.There were differences in the content of main components in 3 color Maca.More fatty acids were detected in black Maca,more kinds of volatile oil were detected in yellow Maca.The technic skill of volatile oils inclusion with β-CD mixed Maca extractive was stable to get the chewable tablets.The tablets was accordance to the quality requisition.The antioxidant activity could be detected in Maca fatty acid,Maca volatile oil and Maca chewable tablets.
