Objective:To study the prevalence and risk factors of sexually transmitted diseases(STDs)among men who have sex with men(MSM)infected with HIV,and to provide information for developing AIDS prevention and control strategies. Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted among the HIV infected MSM treated by highly active antiretroviral therapy(HARRT)in three hospitals in Shanghai,Beijing and Jinan. We used an anonymous questionnaire to investigate the demographic characteristics, the knowledge of STDs,sexual behaviors and health-seeking behaviors. At the same time, the laboratory results of STDs were collected, and the information collected from the medical records including age, nation, etc. And the data analyzed by non-conditional logistic regression model. Results:Of the 580 HIV infected MSM,82(14.1%,95%Cl 11.4%-17.1%)cases infected with syphilis,83(14.3%,95%Cl 11.4%-17.2%)cases infected with condyloma acuminatum,3(0.5%,95%CI 0.0%-1.2%)cases infected with genital herpes,5(0.9%,95%CI 0.2%-1.7%)cases infected with Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and 2(0.3%,95%CI 0.0%-0.9%)genital chlamydia infection was detected.152(26.2%,95%CI 22.4%-29.8%)cases infected with at least one kind of STD.The average age is 33.2 and the most of respondents have received highly education.84.8%of respondents were aware of the knowledge of STDs.In the past 6 months before the investigation,324 cases(55.9%,324/580)had sex with men;275 cases had anal sex,and 37.1%(102/275)had not used condoms.Of 270 cases who have STDs history,253(93.7%)cases reported they have seeked treatment.344(59.3%,344/580)cases never detected sexually transmitted diseases.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that factors significantly associated with sexually transmitted infections included middle income(OR=0.391,95%CI 0.162?0.944),younger age(OR=3.948,95%Cl 1.128?13.819),subnormal CD4 cell count(OR=1.756,95%Cl 1.133?2.721),and unawareness of STDs(OR=4.505,95%CI 2.392?8.486),had received HARRT 2?6 monthes,(OR=0.309,95%Cl 0.159?0.598),STDs history(OR=11.176,95%Cl 6.637?18.817).Conclusion:The prevalence of STDs among HIV infected MSM was relatively high.Given that STDs could drive the spread of HIV,we should strengthen the propaganda and education of STDs and the screening, diagnosis and treatment services. This will help reduce the prevalence of STDs and the spread of HIV.
