Objective: To explore the relationship between operation sequence and postoperative surgical site infection following the surgeries of lumbar spine degenerative diseases, and provide a reference for the clinical to arrange the operation sequence reasonably. Methods:The clinical data of 1459 patients with lumbar spinal degenerative diseases with internal fixation with posterior decompression and interbody fusion were reviewed from June 2014 to December 2016.Patients who underwent postoperative surgical site infection following the surgeries were used as research groups. The control group was included in the same period of patients undergoing the same surgical treatment and without postoperative complications. The correlations between diverse clinical factors(gender, age, diabetes, case order, disease diagnosis, preoperative white blood cells, neutrophil, neutrophil ratio, erythrocyte, hemoglobin, total protein, albumin, calcium, surgical segment, blood loss and blood transfusion). To analyse the relationship between operation sequence and postoperative surgical site infection following the surgeries of lumbar. Results:A total of 39 patients who postoperative surgical site infection following the surgeries of lumbar spine degenerative diseases were collected, including male 22(2.74%)and female 17(2.06%),the mean age of SSI was 58.77±10.58 years, and the incidence was 2.67%,and superficial infection in 27 cases, deep infection of 12 cases. The gender, age, disease diagnosis, preoperative white blood cells, neutrophil, neutrophil ratio, erythrocyte, hemoglobin, total protein, albumin, calcium, surgical segment, diabetes between the infection group and the control group were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The results of logistic regression analysis show that the operation sequence(P=0.001 、 OR=2.224 、 95 % CI=1.396~3.546),blood transfusion(P=0.024、OR=2.811、95%CI=1.146~6.891)are independent risk factors of incision infection.Conculsion:The operation sequence is closely related to postoperative surgical site infection following the surgeries of lumbar spine degenerative diseases, which is one of the independent risk factors of incision infection. In arranging lumbar surgery, the operative sequence should be noticed.
