Lobectomy with lymph node sampling or dissection remains the cornerstone of treatment for early stage non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)since the only randomised prospective study of the Lung Cancer Study Group.[1]Over the years, thoracic surgery trans to minimally invasive surgery. Many advantages were obtained by using VATS: less trauma and pain, short chest drainage duration, short hospital stay, and preservation of pulmonary function.Although there are clear benefits,VATS has also some disadvantages for the surgeon.Long instruments placed through fixed entry points creating a fulcrum effect, with the surgical field viewed on a bi-dimensional screen and with the camera under an assistant's control, creating an unnatural environment where the surgeon can lose orientation, the eye–hand–target axis, and visual depth perception.[2]In order to overcome these limitations, some robotic systems were developed during the last decades.Da Vinci intuitive surgical system was invented(Sunnyvale,USA)and confirmed by the FDA for laparoscopic, thoracoscope and mitral valve forming.Currently, the da Vinci Robotic system is the only complete surgical system applied in a wide range of surgical procedures. It can overcome these defects and retain the advantages of minimally invasive.More intuitive, more flexible, more clear three dimensional perspective is the advantages of the robot.Different studies have confirmed that the robot lung pulmonary resection is safe and feasible, and the long-term effect is similar with the OPEN/VATS.Several different robot technology applied to the current difference between the number of robot manipulator(3 or 4),the use of CO2 Withers lung, excision of time and the location of the punch.VATS and RATS are similar in learning curve.High operation cost is the biggest disadvantage in robot. The addition of rival firms may reduce the cost.[3]...
