Objective: In this study,we detected the skin advanced glycation end products(AGEs)index of patients with type 2 diabetes, and analyzed its relation to the level of renal function. And provide the theory basis for the prevention and early diagnosis of diabetic kidney disease(DKD).Methods: By collecting 532 patients with type 2 diabetes who have been admitted in the Department of endocrinology of Shangdong Province Hospital during 2016.07.01-2017.01.31,we finally brought 189 patients into the study who meet our criteria.Skin AGEs were tested with AGEs reader, and e GFR,serum creatinine, urine albumin / creatinine ratio(UACR)and cystatin C were also inculded. The patients were divided into 4 groups according to the quartile of AGEs level. With SPSS17.0 software,one-way ANOVA and nonparametric test were applied to compare between different groups.Meanwhile, the application of multiple linear regression were used to deserve correlation between AGEs and e GFR,creatinine,UACR and cystatin C.Results: 1.A total of 189 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients were included in this study, including 101 male and 88 female, with an average age of 60±11.986 years.Duration of diabetes mellitus was 10(11)years.The average AGEs level was 84±14.68.2.There were differences between four groups in e GFR and cystatin.e GFR(107.68 vs.98.61,93.09,89.55,P = 0.031,0.000 and 0.000,<0.05),Cystatin(0.85 vs.0.92,1.01,1.13,P=0.007,0.000 and 0.000,<0.05).As for log(creatinine)and log UACR,although the difference had no statistical means, but we found that with the increase of AGEs,both of them had gradually increased.3.Through multiple linear regression, there was negative correlation between AGEs and e GFR(beta=-0.252,P=0.001),and there was positive correlation between AGEs and cystatin(beta=0.236,P=0.001).AGEs was positively associated with log(creatinine). However, multiple linear regression was used to identify log(creatine)correlating with AGEs and there was no relationship between them.Log UACR was not associated with AGEs.Conclusion: there is a correlation between AGEs and renal function in T2 DM.And AGEs can reflect the changes of renal function in T2 DM.
