| Background: Nonthrombotic Iliac Vein Compression syndrome (NIVUS) an anatomically variable condition of venous outflow obstruction caused by extrinsic compression,The pathology of this condition is secondary to a partial obstruction of the common-iliac vein by an overlying common iliac artery with subsequent entrapment of the left common iliac vein.This causes partial or complete impedance to the iliac vein outflow with subsequent possible obstruction and extensive ipsilateral deep vein thrombosis (DVT) of the ipsilateral extremity. Clinical presentations include, but are not limited to pain, swelling, venous stasis ulcers, and skin discoloration. Early detection,diagnosis, appropriate treatment and prevention prognosis of elderly pneumonia patients is important.Its prevalence is likely underestimated.Purpose: To evaluate the value of Color Doppler Ultrasound for diagnosing nonthrombotic Iliac Vein Compression Syndrome.Method: This study included patients from the Affiliated Hospital of Binzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic, All of 76 cases were examined with ultrasonography from Dec. 2013 to Jan. 2015.we use 33 patients of nonthrombotic iliac vein compression syndrome patients as experimenta group, Another 43 patients were as control group, all cases were performed by ascending venography of lower limbs, Through the measurement of blood flow velocity, anteroposterior diameter,transverse diameter and cross-sectional area of the left common iliac vein(where the right common iliac artery step over the left common iliac vein).Results: Compared with the control group,anteroposterior diameter and cross-sectional area were diminished obviously,blood velocity were higher,The results were significant(P<0.01, P<0.01, P<0.01,P<0.05).Conclusion: As a noninvasive, convenient, economic inspection methods, Color Doppler ultrasound have high value in the diagnosis of nonthrombotic iliac vein compression syndrome. |
