ObjectiveThis study explored the modified indwelling catheter fixation method to reduce the urology patients' urinary tract-related infection and improve the catheter fixed state. And then we observed whether the modified indwelling catheter fixation method has the effective impact on the patients in their comfort and nursing efficiency or not.MethodsIt chooses 180 cases of clinical information of male patients with urinary tract calculi between January 2016 ~ December 2016,and patients were randomly divided into experimental group and two control group(60 people of each group).Three groups of patients were routinely retained F16 star dual-chamber balloon catheter, capsule filled with sterile water for injection 15 ml,indwelling catheter after the success of each group in accordance with the scheduled program.Experimental group: after successful indwelling catheter, using the fixed method of 3M transparent dressings,3M presses and fine sideband(the modified indwelling catheter fixation method).Control group 1: after successful indwelling catheter, using fixed method of 10 cm pressure tape, two 10 cm long and 2.5cm wide tape to paste the skin(the holding the platform fixed method).Control group 2: after successful indwelling catheter, being not taken external fixation. The three groups have same other nursing measures for the patients during their hospitalization. And we should collect the clinical information, which included the incidence of catheter associated urinary tract infection, the catheter exposed length changes with time changes and the symptom severity grade of urinary catheter-related bladder discomfort. And then we analyzed the result in scientific statistical methods and compared the differences between the three groups, and finally draw the conclusions. Results The statistics of this study show that:(1)The subjects were male patients, and all the age was order than 18 years old.The average age of the experimental group was 53.23±6.25 years old,and the average age of the control group 1 was 50.36 ±10.21 years old,and the average age of the control group 2 was 51.62 ±9.45 years,P>0.05,and the age of the three groups was not statistically different. The clinical diagnosis(upper urinary tract stones),the average size of stones and the merge symptoms of three groups patients were not statistically different,P> 0.05.(2)The incidence of urinary tract infection in the experimental group, the control group 1 and the control group 2 were 4.76‰?14.29‰ and 23.81‰ respectively. The incidence of urinary tract infection in the experimental group was significantly lower than the two control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(3)Compared the catheter catheterizations' exposed length of the three groups in the measured time immediately, after the third day and after the seventh day.The results showed that the experimental group had better fixation effect than the two control groups, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(4)Compared the indwelling catheter-related discomfort symptom grades of the three groups, and the results showed that the modified indwelling catheter fixation method significantly reduced the discomfort symptom, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionThe application of modified indwelling catheter fixation method can reduce the incidence of urinary tract infection in patients with urinary tract, can effectively improve the patient's catheter fixed state, increase the stability of the catheter to facilitate clinical care.At the same time can reduce the patient after catheter discomfort, reduce the pain of patients. Therefore,in view of the improvement of indwelling catheter catheterization method is simple, economic, social benefits and other characteristics, can be widely used in clinical practice.
