Menthae Herba has been widely used as drug and food in China since a long time and it is the dry part on the ground of Mentha haplocalyx Briq.plant, which can be used with the treatment of wind hot, clearing leader, pharynx, etc.Mint acts as a traditional crops, has been widely used in medicine, food and cosmetics and other fields. The main components of mint volatile oil, amino acids and flavonoids and so on.Among them, the volatile oil as the main medicinal ingredients of the main mint.In recent years, many studys have carried out extensive research on the chemical constituents and pharmacological activities of mint and found mint has anti-tumor,anti-inflammatory,antifungal and antifungal activities, regulating the digestive system and smooth muscle.2015 version of "Chinese Pharmacopoeia" to the total volatile oil content as a quality evaluation of mint herbs and quality control standards, but did not analyze the intrinsic ingredients. At present, the distribution of mints is wide, the ecological adaptability is large and the hybridization phenomenon is widespread, which contributes to the difference of chemical composition.Mint volatile oil composition is more complex. In recent years, related to mint intraspecies variation has been reported. In this study,35 groups of mint samples from different areas were analyzed, and the fingerprints of mint were established. The four types of mints were classified according to the relative percentage of main components: L-menthol,pulegone,Carvone and L-menthone.However,the correlation between different chemical types and pharmacological effects of mint has not been reported. In this paper,GC method for the simultaneous determination of six common terpenoids in the essential oil of Mentha was developed and the pharmacological activities of different chemical mints were studied. The main contents and results of this paper were as follows:1?Analysis of the Chemical Constituents of Volatile Oil from Mentha Based on the study of four chemical types of mint medicinal herbs in different areas,24 batches of mint medicinal materials from different sources were collected and the volatile components of different chemical peppermints were analyzed by GC-MS.A total of 112 compounds were identified.According to the relative percentage of the characteristic components in the volatile oil of the mint,24 batches of mints were divided into four chemical types: L-menthol type, carvone type, picamone type and L-menthione type: S1 S20 is L-Menthol type;S21,S22 for the pomelone type;S23 for the L-menthone type;S24 for the carcassone type.2?The dynamic changes of volatile oil in different growth periods The main content of 6 common compositions in different Menthae Herba essential oil samples from two main chemostypes, were determined by GC method in this paper. The results of GC analysis of the volatile oil of the two major chemical types in different growth stages showed that the chemical stability of the essential oil and the cumulative dynamic change of the volatile oil were consistent with the traditional harvesting time. The contents of menthone and menthol in the volatile oil of Mentha longiflorum in different harvest time were less than those in the other two days. The oil content of mint volatile oil was the highest between 12 am and 4 pm,and it was better than the traditional harvesting in good weather. The results showed that the content of total essential oil and the content of six common terpenoids in the volatile oil of different growth stages showed a higher content in the middle and late July and October, which was consistent with the traditional harvesting period.3?Analysis of Chemical Constituents of Volatile Oil from Mentha at Different Storage The contents of total amount of volatile oil and 6 main components of cineole, namely the content of D-limonene,L-menthone,L-menthol,pulegone and menthyl acetate of the volatile oil in various storage period were determined by GC.The results showed that the same batch of mint was in the same storage environment?PVC sealed bag, shade?,The content of volatile oil in Mentha from Xixia Henan decreased from 1% mg · m L-1 to 0.5% mg · m L-1.The content of volatile oil in Mentha from Zhenjiang,Jiangsu Province decreased from 1.44 % to 0.79% mg · m L-1.The content of volatile oil in Mentha from Xixia Henan decreased from 0.71% to 0.35% mg · m L-1.The results show that mint should not be kept for a long time, should develop appropriate use of time.It is necessary to establish and develop appropriate storage time and storage methods.4?Preliminary Study on the Anti-inflammatory Activity of Volatile Oil from Mentha chinesii with Different Chemical The anti-inflammatory activity of different chemical peppermint volatile oils was investigated by xylene-induced mouse ear swelling and egg-induced acute inflammation of rat foot swelling. The results showed that four kinds of chemical fertilizers had different degrees of antiinflammatory effect: Hu mint ketone type> L-menthol type> L-menthol type> Carbovine ketone type.To study the effects of mint volatile oil on the expression of prostaglandin E2?PGE2?,malondialdehyde?MDA?and malondialdehyde?MDA?in the tissue and serum of rat foot edema induced by Egg-white by establishing xylene-induced ear edema in mice and MDA and nitric oxide?NO?,and to study the anti-inflammatory effects of different chemical peppermint volatile oils and to explore the anti-inflammatory mechanism of peppermint. The anti-inflammatory effect of the volatile oil from the peppermint ketone is the most remarkable. The anti-inflammatory mechanism of volatile oil of Mentha is related to inhibiting the synthesis of PGE2 in inflammatory tissue, reducing the accumulation of MDA in the inflammatory tissue and decreasing the content of NO.The volatile oil of peppermint had inhibitory effect on PGE2,and MDA in inflammatory serum induced by egg white in rats.5?Preliminary Study on the Antibacterial Activity of Volatile Oil from Mentha chinesii with Different Chemostypes The antibacterial activity and the minimum inhibitory concentration?MIC?of the volatile oil of different chemical types were determined by filter paper method and agar plate double dilution method. The growth inhibition of Staphylococcus epidermidis, was the strongest and the inhibition zone was 12.56±0.42 mm.The inhibition rate of Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus aureus,Pseudomonas aeruginosa, the diameter of the inhibition zone was12.40±0.37 mm?10.86±0.73 mm?10.66±0.52 mm?9.74±0.41 mm,respectively. The fertilizers of the pulegone mints have a certain inhibitory effect on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus,Escherichia coli,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Staphylococcus epidermidis and Klebsiella pneumonia and the diameter of the inhibition zone was 10.32±0.40 mm?10.20±0.30 mm ? 9.49±0.43 mm ? 8.38±0.93 mm ? 7.25±0.56 mm.The inhibitory effect of carbohydrate type volatile oil on the tested strains was 7.86 ± 0.14 mm,7.60 ± 0.32 mm,6.94 ± 0.23 mm,6.77 ± 0.53 mm and 6.92 ± 0.28 mm,respectively. The inhibitory effect of L-mentone mint volatile oil was the weakest, and the diameter of the inhibition zone was 6.90 ± 0.22 mm,6.90 ± 0.15 mm,6.80 ± 0.42 mm,6.28 ± 0.22 mm and 6.56 ± 0.25 mm,respectively.Different chemical types of menthol volatile oil on the tested strains have different degrees of inhibition of Gram-positive bacteria have a significant inhibitory effect. The order of antimicrobial effect was L-menthol-type>pulegone-type>carvone-type> L-menthone-type.The inhibitory effect of L-menthol mint volatile oil on the five strains was the most significant.
