Objective: To study the effects of intravenous human immunoglobulin with glucocorticoid in treatment of acute severe viral myocarditis. Methods:Retrospective analyzing the 69 cases with acute severe viral myocarditis in my hospital during 10 years from 2005 to 2016.Which were divided into two groups, the study group with intravenous human immunoglobulin and glucocorticoid in therapy, the contrast group without intravenous human immunoglobulin in therapy. We compared the effects of two methods in fatality rate and cure rate for this diease.Results:32 cases of the study group were treated immediately with intravenous human immunoglobulin 20 g.qd and glucocorticoid dexamethasone 10 mg qd for 7 days after diagnosis. The fatality rate 18.75%,cure rate 81.25%.The cardiac function were recovered within 2 to 5 days after treatment in echocardiogram.37 csses of the contrast group without intravenous human immunoglobulin intherapy, which were treated only with dexamethasone 10 mg qd.The fatality rate 75.68%,cure rate 24.32%.All cases were treated with routine methods.11 viable cases were followed up for 1 to 10 years, their cardiogram were normal. There was significant difference between two groups(X~2 =22.25,P<0.001).Conclusions:Using intravenous human immunoglobulin and glucocorticoid in therapy of acute severe viral myocarditis could raised the cure rate, except the routing methods.
