| Objective:Periodontitis,the same as“Gum bleeding”,“Tooth gap” in traditional Chinese medical science,is a chronic,inflammatory,destructive periodontal disease,involved in gingiva,periodontal ligament,cementum and alveolar bone.Chinese medicine,especially Bu-Shen Formula has a long history in periodontitis treatment.In previous study on periodontitis,Stomatological Department of Hebei Chinese Medicine Hospital has achieved the exciting clinical effects on the patients of kidney essence deficiency periodontitis by “Bu-Shen-Huo-Xue-Gu-Chi Formula”,with the mechanism remaining unclear.Periodontitis is a multiple factor disease with dental plaque as initial factor,In addition to the direct effect of periodontal pathogens destruction of periodontal tissue,the host reaction to periodontal bacteria including recruit immune cells,immune cells and their subsequent release of inflammatory factor(cytokines and various enzymes),plays a key role in the pathological process of periodontitis.It is a common method for the detection of periodontal inflammatory markers in GCF(gingival crevicular fluid),which has become a hot topic in periodontitis study.In this study,we researched on the mechanism involving in the effect of this prescription on the treatment of periodontitis by observing the influence of Bu-Shen-Huo-Xue-Gu-Chi Formula on the level of IL-1??TNF-? and MMP-2,providing the theoretical basis for clinical use of the formula.Methods:1 60 patients with periodontitis were randomly divided into two groups.30 patients in treatment group were treated by initial therapy and Bu-Shen-Huo-Xue-Gu-Chi Formula.30 patients in control group were treated by initial therapy only.The course was 3 periods of treatment in two groups.2 In 6 sites of a tooth,the indices of GI,PD and AL of dental periphery before and after treatment were detected in two groups.3 Collect each tested before and after treatment in patients with GCF,the level of IL-1??TNF-? and MMP-2 were detected by ELISA(enzyme linked immunosorbent assay)method.Results:1 Compare with pro-treatment,the level of GI,PD and AL of dental periphery both have varying degrees of decline in two groups.The decrease in treatment group were superior to those in control group with statistical significance.(P?0.01).2 Compare with pro-treatment,the level of IL-1?,TNF-? and MMP-2 in GCF both have varying degrees of decline in two groups.The decrease of the level of IL-1?,TNF-? and MMP-2 in treatment group were superior to those in control group with statistical significance.(P?0.01).Conclusions:1 Bu-Shen-Huo-Xue-Gu-Chi Formula can reduce the level of IL-1?,TNF-? and MMP-2 in GCF in patients with periodontitis.2 Bu-Shen-Huo-Xue-Gu-Chi Formula can reduce the periodontal status of patients with periodontitis associated indicators(GI,PD and AL),can improve periodontal status,and has significant clinical effect.3 Bu-Shen-Huo-Xue-Gu-Chi Formula plays an important role in the treatment of periodontitis by reducing the level of Inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1?,TNF-? and MMP-2. |
