Clinical Analysis Of Chlamydia Trachomatis Pneumonia In Infants

ObjectiveIn order to clarify the clinical characteristics of Chlamydia trachomatis pneumonia in infants and improve the clinicians' diagnosis and treatment of Chlamydia trachomatis pneumonia.MethodsRetrospectively reviewed 174 cases of in-patients with Chlamydia trachomatis pneumonia in Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University between January 2015 and December 2015.ResultsAmong the 174 patients,with a gender proportion of 1.42:1(male to female),159(91.4%)patients attacked within 3 months old,and 153(87.9%)babies were delivered vaginally.There were 55 cases of Chlamydia trachomatis singly-detected group(group A),23 cases of Chlamydia trachomatis with viru co-detected group(group B),81 cases of Chlamydia trachomatis with bacteria co-detected group(group C).The percentage of afebrile patients in group A was significantly higher than that in group B(61.8% vs 34.8%,P = 0.029),and the duration of wheezing was significantly lower than that of group B(5.36±4.20 d vs 9.78±7.12 d,P = 0.048).These differences were statistically significant.There was no significant difference between group A and group C in the symptoms and signs of pneumonia and laboratory examination.Lung X-ray found there were main diffuse parenchyma lesions,with the performance of the flake shadow.Lobular consolidation,segmental consolidation and tree-in-bud were dominantly found in Chest CT examination.All of patients had admirable prognosis and there was no any death case.ConclusionChlamydia trachomatis pneumonia is more common in infants younger than 3 months old,afebrile,accompanied by cough,wheezing,tachypnea,and white blood cell count often increased to varying degrees.Combined with viral infection can increase the proportion of fever and wheezing,and extend the duration of wheezing.Azithromycin is the best choice for treatment.Chlamydia trachomatis infection can develop severe pneumonia.The patients with Chlamydia trachomatis pneumonia will gain a good prognosis after the positive anti-infection and symptomatic treatment.
