Genetic Mutation Characters Of Thymoma

Background: Thymoma is a rare tumor comes from thymic epithelial,according to histological characteristics Thymoma can be divided into A,AB B1/B2/B3,C.Thymic carcinoma also can be divided into many types according to his histological characteristics.A variety of different histology with low incidence of thymic carcinoma impedes large-scale studies of this tumor,makes the understanding of epidemiology and biological behavior and the treatment of this disease very limited.Methods We collected 24 patients that come from surgical treatment in our department between 2011 and 2015.The final pathological diagnosis of type A,AB,B1,B2,B3,C.we use TM V2.0 [LK103] Langkang Burning Stone detection project.Normal and tumor paired tissues of 56 tumor related genes were analyzed by using Kang line panel.56.The result of gene sequencing were sent back to our department after it through the examination by the Test center.Results: 1.In 24 samples,9 patients did not detect genetic mutation.The mutation rate of Thymoma was 50%(N = 6),mutation rate of thymic carcinoma was 75%(N = 9).2.The highest mutation rate in Thymic carcinoma is TP53,the highest mutation rate in the Thymoma is BRCA1.3.The CDKN2 A mutationwasonly found in thymiccarcinoma.Conclusion: 1.The molecular features of thymoma and thymic carcinoma is complicated,there are many different kinds of genetic mutations but less repeat mutations.2.The higher degree of mutation frequency was found in thmic carcinoma and B3 thymoma.3.TP53 mutations are associated with the malignancy of thymoma,and patients with TP53 or CDKN2 A mutations may have a shorter survival period.4.In this study,CDKN2 A mutations only appeared in patients with Thymic carcinoma,the mutation rate was 12%.
