Objective To investigate ocular biometric parameters and their associations in Age-related cataract patients from hui and han people.To provide reference data base for cataract patient in Ningxia.Methods This is a cross-sectional survey observational study.We collected 904 age-related cataract patients from January 2013 to August 2016 from Ningxia Eye hospital.All patients were measured ocular parameters including axial length,horizontal corneal curvature,vertical corneal curvature and anterior chamber depthby IOL Master.The data were analyzed using independent samples t test,ANOVA,pearson correlation and linear regression.ResultIn hui group,the mean axial length of 23.15mm(95%CI,23.07-23.22),mean horizontal corneal curvature of 43.56D(95%CI,43.41-43.07),mean vertical corneal curvature of 44.62D(95%CI,44.46-44.78),mean anterior chamber depth of 2.96mm(95%CI,2.93-2.9)respectively.In han group,the mean axial length of 23.22mm(95%CI,23.15-23.30),mean horizontal corneal curvature of 43.72D(95%CI,43.58-43.87),mean vertical corneal curvature of 44.75D(95%CI,44.59-44.91),mean anterior chamber depth of 3.01mm(95%CI,2.98-3.05)respectively.The chamber depth of 452 hui subjects are shorter than that of han people(2.96 mm verse 3.01mm;P<0.05).Especially in the age between 70-79,there is difference between hui and han people on chamber depth,but no difference in other groups and other three biometry data.In all 904 subjects,430 male subjects had significantly longer AL(23.43 mm verse 22.93mm;P<0.05),deeper ACD(3.04 mm verse 2.92mm;P<0.05),and 474 female subjects had significantly steeper horizontal corneal curvature(44.12 D verse 43.39D;P<0.05),horizontal corneal curvature(45.24 D verse 44.33D;P<0.05)as well.The axial length both with anterior chamber depth decease with age,and mean while,horizontal corneal curvature and vertical corneal curvature increase with age(P<0.05).Conclusion For Age-related cataract patients in Ningxia district,it is showed there are no differences between hui and han people biometry data in most respect but a difference in anterior chamber depth when age is grouped.In the same trend with age,biometry data of two minorities has no difference.Using IOL Master can accurately measure ocular biometric parameters and support the clinical work in this area.
