Objective Determinate the blood flow velocity and vessel shape of central retinal artery in the patient with the nonarteritc anterior ischemic optic neuropathy(NAION)by ultrasound microbubble. Methods Sono Vue was performed on 17 patients clinically diagnosed as NAION(17eyes)and 13 normal cases(13eyes).The distribution, status and the flow velocity of central retinal artery was observed. Results The flow velocity of central retinal artery about NAION group was(7.15±0.89)cm/s,and that of normal group was(9.64±0.87)cm/s.All of the result has statistically significant difference(P<0.01).Conclusions This study was the first time to making ultrasound contrast to measure the velocity of central retinal artery.Provide a new visualized and real time technology for assessment central retinal artery.Utrasound contrast is more sensitiver than color doppler.
