Till date,Essential Tremor(ET)is known as the most common pathological tremor in human. There has always been an uncertainty as to whether ET is simply a mono-symptomatic disorder. But in the recent years, studies have proven that it is more than just a mono-symptomatic disorder. It is a progressive condition, clinically heterogeneous and associated with clinical features of both motor and non-motor elements. This review briefly describes the current information on ET,the role of neuropathological and neuroimaging findings on the disease.Several postmortem histopathological and MRI-based studies have been included.Among the MRI studies, the most specific for addressing neurodegeneration are VBM,DTI,and RS-fMRI.
