| Objective:This study aimed to investigate the pathological diagnosis accuracy of gastric polyps by endoscopic biopsy and to analyse the factors that might influence the diagnosis of endoscopic biopsy, and then explore the carcinogenesis of polyps.Methods:119 patients with gastric polyps who underwent endoscopic polypectomy from January 2013 to June 2016 in the first clinical hospital of Shanxi medical university has been retrospectively analyzed.Meanwhile we have compared the pathological differences between endoscopic forceps biopsy and polypectomy. Then, analyzed the characteristics of the patients(gender, age)and the gastric polyps(locations, size,Yamada type). Results:A total of 146 gastric polyps from 119 patients have been finally reviewed. The ratio of male to female is 1:1.77(43:76);the average age is(55.7±11.0)years;the average size of gastric polyps is(0.9±0.4)cm;Yamada type II and III are the most common type.Besides, the pathological discrepancy rate of gastric polyps between endoscopic biopsy and polypectomy is 26.0%(38/146).The mainly factors of the pathological discrepancy were patient age and polyp size. And three polyps are diagnosed as malignant after polypectomy in 146 gastric polyps, with a malignant rate of 2.1%.Conclusion:There is a certain degree of difference in the histological diagnosis between endoscopic biopsy and polypectomy, especially in patients older than 60 years of age and patients with gastric polyps ≥ 1.0cm.Malignant potential has been confirmed in the presence of gastric polyps.Although the malignant transformation of adenoma polyps are more common, the hyperplastic polyps can not be ignored. |
