Objectives:Collecting the blood and detecting the S100A8/A9 levels in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE).Exploring the relationship between S100A8/A9 levels and Disease activity, incidence of lupus nephritis(LN)in patients with SLE.Methods:Collecting 57 patients diagnosed with SLE in Department of Rheumatology and Immunology of Tianjin Medical University General Hospital, and 25 healthy volunteers. The group assignment as follows: According to the SLEDAI scores,SLE patients were divided into two groups: 35 cases of active in SLEDAI≥5 group and22 cases in SLEDAI<5 group;Among the 57 SLE patients,32 patients were diagnosed with LN accompanying renal damage, and the other 25 patients were classified into non-renal damage group;Using T test to compare the levels of S100A8/A9 between different groups, and Pearson linear correlation analysis was used to investigate the related factors of serum S100A8/A9 in patients with SLE.Results:1.The expression level of C3 in SLE groups was significantly lower than the control groups;and the levels of S100A8/A9、anti-dsDNA antibody quantitative and24 hours urinary protein quantitation in SLE groups were obviously higher than the control group.(P<0.05).2.The level of C3 in active SLE groups was lower than the inactive SLE group,he difference was significant;and the levels of S100A8/A9 、 anti-dsDNA antibody quantitative and 24 hours urinary protein quantitation in active SLE group were higher than inactive SLE group, differences were significant(P<0.05).3.The level of serum C3 of LN group was lower than non-LN group, the difference was significant;the levels of serum S100A8/A9、anti-ds DNA antibody quantitative and 24 hours urinary protein quantitation in LN group were higher than non-LN group, differences were significant(P<0.05).4.In SLE patients, the expression level of S100A8/A9 was negatively correlated with C3 levels, however, there was a positive relationship between the levels of S100A8/A9 and the anti-dsDNA antibody quantification,24 hours urinary protein quantification, and SLEDAI scores, all of which were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:1.The expression level of S100A8/A9 in SLE patients was significantly higher than the control group.2.The increased S100A8/A9 expression was negatively correlated with the level of C3,while were positively correlated with the levels of anti-dsDNA antibody quantification,24 hours urinary protein quantification, and SLEDAI scores, which suggested that the level of S100A8/A9 was correlated with disease activity in SLE patients.3.The level of S100A8/A9 in LN group was higher than the non-LN group, and the levels of serum S100A8/A9 were positively correlated with anti-dsDNA antibody quantification,24 hours urinary protein quantification, and SLEDAI score, which indicated that the elevated levels of S100A8/A9 were correlated with SLE in patients with renal damage.
