ObjectiveAcoustic radiation force impulse(ARFI)imaging technology provides measurable values of the stiffness of the soft tissues examined. This work is a primary study to determine the shear wave velocity values of the differential diagnosis of adenomyosis and leiomyoma Material and Methods:129 cases that were suffered from myometrium lesions or Healthy controls were collected during the period from July 2014 to July 2015,in Wuxi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The volunteers included 43 cases of hysteromyoma,51 cases of uterine adenomyosis, and 35 cases of normal uterus wall.Ages ranged from 18 to 57 years old?In this study,we were using Siemens ACUSON S 2000 ultrasound diagnostic apparatus with acoustic radiation force impulse imaging technology and a 4C 1 convex array probe(2.5?7.5MHz).The conventional ultrasonography imaging, virtual touch tissue imaging(VTI),the shear wave velocity(SWV)of the lesions were recorded.ROC curve was drawn to appraise the best cutoff value in differentiating hysteromyoma and adenomyoma. The SPSS 17.0 software was used to analyze the dates.ResultsSWV of hysteromyoma and adenomyosis were respectively(3.30±1.04)m/s and(3.33± 0.98)m/s,which were significantly greater than that of normal uterus wall of(2.72±0.85)(P<0.05),but there had no differences between Hysteromyoma andadenomyosis(P>0.05).Normal uterus?Hysteromyoma and adenomyosishad their characteristic VTI image.ConclusionThe ARFI technology provides a new method to the differential diagnosis of adenomyosis and leiomyoma. This method needs to be further studied by large samples...
