Objectives:The risk factors of osteonecrosis of the femoral head(ONFH)have been demonstrated in previous studies but with different results. Moreover, few studies have evaluated the association between RBC,hemoglobin, platelet and ONFH.To determine the risk factors of OMFH,whether a correlation exists between demographic features, medical history, laboratory examinations and ONFH,and whether RBC,hemoglobin, platelet level of these variables are independently associated with ONFH.Methods:2015,492 patients were diagnosed ONFH and 488 patients with femoral neck fractures were recruited during January 1,2010 to August 23.The demographic features, medical history was record, and the RBC,hemoglobin, platelet level of the preoperative laboratory examinations was collected.SPSS17.0 was used for statistical analysis.Result:The mean Red blood cell(4.26 ± 0.63,4.07 ± 0.68),Hemoglobin(120.37±18.98,124.62±19.95),Platelet(180.02 ± 69.77,214.31 ± 76.91)were all significantly different in non-ONFH and ONFH.When age was adjusted for effect of RBC,hemoglobin, platelet on diagnosis of ONFH,The RBC,hemoglobin and platelet was positively associated with ONFH,the higher the concentration, the higher the risk of ONFH.The odds ratio(OR)of RBC ≥4.54*106/ml was 2.26(95%CI:1.53-3.32)compared with <3.78*106/ml.The OR of HB≥134.00 was 1.92(95%CI:1.31-2.81)compared with <110g/ml.The OR of PLT≥240.00g/ml was 3.37(95%CI:2.30-4.94)compared with <142g/ml.Multivariate Regression for Effect of Red blood cell,Hemoglobin,Platelet on Diagnosis of ONFH,When age, sex, smoke, alcohol, hypertension, diabetes were adjusted.REB,HB and PLT were positively associated with ONFH.The odds ratio(OR)of RBC≥4.54*106/ml was 2.07(95%CI:1.38-3.11)compared with <3.78*106/ml.The OR of HB≥134.00 was 1.68(95%CI:1.11-2.53)compared with <110g/ml.The OR of PLT≥240.00g/ml was 3.71(95%CI:2.50-5.49)compared with <142g/ml.When stratified by sex,the OR of RBC≥4.54*106/ml was 2.49(95%CI: 1.38-4.49)among female, and higer than 1.96(95%CI:1.11-3.45)among male. The OR of HB≥134.00 was 1.73(95%CI: 0.93-3.21)among female, but lower than 1.82(95%CI: 1.01-3.28)among male. The OR of PLT≥240.00g/ml was 4.02(95% CI:2.34-6.92)among female, but lower than 3.29(95%CI:1.91-5.66)among male. When more factors were adjusted, the relationship between the three indexes and ONFH were influenced, only the medium(OR:5.70,95%CI:2.27-14.32)and high level OR:8.82 95%CI:3.33-23.41)of platelet were found significantly associated with ONFH(P<0.0001).Conclusion:RBC,hemoglobin levels, platelet were significantly associated with ONFH.The patients with high level of RBC count, hemoglobin, platelet counts level need pay more attention for emergence of ONFH.
