Infrasound is a sound wave produced by object vibration that can not be perce ived by the auditory nerve and it widely exists in natural environment traffic enviro nment industry environment even in the human body. The mechanism of infrasound is biological resonance.Infrasound at different frequencies and sound pressure leve ls can cause different degrees of damage to animal organs.Although infrasound can cause different degrees of damage to human physiology, but because it is not easil y perceived,so people are unable to protect themselves from infrasound. In order t o understand the effects of infrasound on human physiological function and its path ogenic mechanism, this paper summarizes and reviews the general situation and mai n achievements of studies on the effects of infrasound on the physiological function of animals at home and abroad in recent 5 years, including the effects on the ner vous system, auditory system and reproductive system,as well as the application of infrasound in medicine, and analyze the damage results and pathogenesis in the pa st studies. From a microscopic perspective, the effects of infrasound on the nervous system were reviewed. It was found that infrasound can cause damage to neuronal cells and glial cells and cause apoptosis. At the same time, infrasound of specific sound pressure also improves the expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP),and play a role in repairing damaged nerves;Meanwhile, infrasound also affects the structure of the central nervous system through calcium channel, glutamate transpor ter protein(EATT2),tau protein, etc.Infrasound also affects the expression of inflam matory cells,chemokines(CCR2)and surviving. It also has effects on cannabinoid receptors, apoptotic proteins(caspase-3)and other active substances. The infrasound has a direct effect on the auditory organ, which affects the normal function of the inner ear by stimulating the inner and outer hair cells, the vestibule receptor and so on.In addition the high intensity infrasound can also affect the hearing threshol d of the human being and cause the hearing damage.Besides, infrasound can also affect reproductive system, digestive system, cardiovascular system and so on.There fore,on the one hand, this article lays a theoretical foundation for further studying the biological effects of infrasound, and on the other hand,it provides reference for the medical application of infrasound.
