| ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to investigate the cognition of operating rooms nurses in grade Tow and above hospitals in 11 regions of Zhejiang Province on risk assessment and nursing measures of elderly patients during operation.To provide the theoretical basis for training the professional ability of the nursing staff of the elderly patients with surgery,reduce the nursing risk during the operation of the elderly patients,improve the quality of nursing,and prepare for the comprehensive arrival of the aging society in ChinaMethodsUsing the method of cross-sectional survey and self-made survey scale,this study investigated 33 hospitals and operating room nurses of different levels in 11 areas of Zhejiang Province.The questionnaire was composed of four parts,one is the general information table,the second is basic cognition of nursing staff on the aged adults,the third is cognition of nurses on the assessment of surgical risk of elderly patients,the last is operating room nurses cognition of the special nursing measures taken during the operation of the elderly patients.ResultsAccording to the results of 279 clinical nurses in operating room,81.72%of them agree that China has entered the aging society.74.1%Of the nurses correctly chose the defined age of the elderly;The average knowledge of 10 nursing risks was 61.34,and nurses had the highest awareness of the risk of pressure sore,falling,hypothermia and related factors(83,70,67).Cognitive impairment,postural injury,and risk of deep vein thrombosis were 44,55,56;The average cognitive score was 59.05 among the 14 nursing measures that needed special use or special enhancement,and the knowledge of prevention of pressure sore,hypothermia and falling into bed was 81,78,76.On the pass line,the patients were recognized as pre-operative interview,volume management,postural placement method and infection prevention measures.The less ideal were preventive measures for delirium,the use of cognitive aids to encourage patients,the prevention of safety verification errors and deep venous thrombosis in elderly patients,and the prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular accidents.A statistical comparison based on demographic characteristics showed that the nursing risk and the awareness of intervention measures of nurses aged 30 to 40 were higher than those of other groups.The cognition of middle and senior nurses was better than that of junior nurses.Hospital nurses with more operation were more aware than hospital nurses with less operation.ConclusionsOperating room nurses have been basically aware of the arrival of the medical aging era,nursing risks and intervention measures have a certain degree of awareness,but not comprehensive.It is necessary to increase the training of specialized knowledge and provide individualized and characteristic nursing care to the elderly patients. |
