Objectives:To explore the current status of the self-efficacy,social support, and care burden of primary caregivers of patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy(DMD),analyze the influencing factors of primary caregiver burden of DMD patients, and explore the correlation between self-efficacy,social support and care burden of primary caregivers of patients with DMD and DMD patients, and the experiences and feelings of the main caregivers of DMD patients in the care process, provide theoretical basis for formulating corresponding nursing interventions, improve the quality of care for the caregiver, and reduce the caregivers’ burden of care. Methods:This study combines cross-sectional studies in quantitative studies with phenomenological studies in qualitative studies.Using the General Information Questionnaire, the Zarit Caregiver Burden Interview(ZBI),the General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES),and the Social Support Scale(SSRS),which were designed based on the purpose of the study, from the February 2017 to January 2018,a total of 88 patients who were diagnosed as DMD in three level of first-class hospital in Nanchang and three level of first-class hospital in Zhengzhou were investigated by purpose sampling. At the same time,13 representative DMD were surveyed using semi-structured in-depth interviews to explore the care experience of the patient’s primary caregiver.SPSS22.0 statistical analysis software was used to statistically analyse the date, and the date was analyzed using the Colaizzi phenomenological analysis method in phenomenological research methods in qualitative research.Results:(1)The total caregiver burden of primary caregivers in Duchenne muscular dystrophy was(30.93±11.78)points,and 81.2% of caregivers were at mild to moderate burden levels. There was a significant negative correlation between general self-efficacy,socialsupport,and all dimensions of care burden.Multiple regression analysis showed that the patient’s self-care ability, daily care time, general self-efficacy,and social support were entered into a regression equation that took care of the total burden of the burden.(4)Through the semi-structured in-depth interview method, four themes for primary caregivers’ burden of care in Duchenne muscular dystrophy were obtained:1,excessive psychological burden;2,excessive economic burden;3,low self-efficacy;4,lack of knowledge of care.Conclusion:(1)In this study,81.2%of primary caregivers in Duchenne muscular dystrophy were at mild to moderate burden. The general self-efficacy score of 96.5% was in the middle-low self-efficacy level, and the social support score was 82.4% in the middle level.(2)The key influencing factors for the care-giving burden of caregivers are:patients’ self-care ability, daily care time, general self-efficacy,and social support.(3)The primary caregiver burden of care for Duchenne muscular dystrophy mainly includes psychological burden, economic burden, and low self-efficacy.The burden of care has a certain influence on the care experience.(4)Caregivers’ self-efficacy and social support can affect the caregivers’ burden of care.
