Related Factors Of Outer Retinal Reconstruction After Retinal Reattachment For Primary Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment

Objective To observe the changes of outer microstructure after retinal reattachment of macular-off primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD),and analyze the related factors of the reconstruction of outer microstructure by optical coherence tomography.Methods A total of 104 eyes in 104 patients with RRD were enrolled in this retrospective study.The changes of ellipsoid zone and external limiting membrane at the last follow-up by the spectral domain optical coherence tomography were recorded.Analysis of the relationship between them and the age of onset,duration of macular detachment,the range of RRD,the degree of proliferative vitreoretinopathy,axial length,posterior sclera staphyloma,choroidal detachment,vitreous hemorrhage,vitreous tamponade material,artificial lens,operative type,operative duration,postoperative follow-up time,subretinal fluid,other factors such as inner retinopathy.Results The axial length(?2=11.153,p=0.004),staphyloma of posterior sclera(?2=20.162,p<0.0001),and the postoperative follow-up time(?2=14.050,p=0.001)were significantly related with the continuation of ELM.The axial length(?2=10.977,p=0.004),staphyloma of posterior sclera(?2=16.635,p<0.0001),the postoperative follow-up time(?2=26.117,p<0.0001),and artificial lens(?2=5.438,p=0.020)had significant relations with continuation of EZ.Logistic regression analysis showed that the continuation of ELM was negatively related to posterior sclera staphyloma(coefficients=3.176,OR=23.949,p=0.006),and the postoperative follow-up time was positively correlated(coefficients =-0.049,OR=0.952,p=0.008);The continuous change of EZ was positively related to postoperative follow-up time(coefficients=-0.116,OR=0.891,p=0.001).Also found that the continuation of ELM was significantly correlated with the continuation of EZ(rs=0.7623,p<0.0001).Conclusions Posterior scleral staphyloma is independent risk factor for the continuation of ELM.With the lengthening of the postoperative follow-up time,the continuation of ELM and EZ may be gradually improved.The continuation of ELM was significantly correlated with the continuation of EZ.
