Objective: To study the mechanical and tribological properties of the etched enamel-infiltrated resin composite after the Icon infiltration resin to repairing etched enamel,and to provide theoretical data for the clinical treatment of dental erosion.Materials and Methods:(1)Establishment of dental erosion model: 20 orthodontic teeth were acid-etched with lemon juice(p H=3.2±0.5)for 5min,10 min,15min and 30 min respectively,The surface morphology of etched enamel observes by scanning electron microscope(SEM));The laser confocal microscope(LCSM)was used to measure the depth of penetration and statistical analysis;EDS combined scanning electron microscopy was used to observe the interface element distribution and morphology;According to the experimental results,choose uniform etching time to build dental erosion model.(2)Measurement of mechanical properties of the etched enamel-infiltrated resin composite: Application of Nanowizard III Bio Atomic Force Microscope(AFM)to observe surface morphology,roughness and Young's modulus of Samples before and after 2h Human whole Saliva adsorption.(3)Tribology performance test of the etched enamel-infiltrated resin composite: The reciprocating sliding friction and wear tester(UMT-2MT)was used to investigate the coefficient of friction(COF)of etched enamel-infiltrated resin composites under saliva lubrication;the volumetric wear rate detected by three-dimensional profilometer(Micro-XAM);SEM observed the surface morphology after the friction test.Result: 1.Establishment of dental erosion model and characterization of etched enamel-infiltrated resin composites SEM showed the surface of human permanent enamel was eroded for 5min when the surface was roughened,and the surface was evenly scaly at 10 min and 15 min after acid etching.However,the scaly structure disappeared and the dentinal tubules were exposed at 30 min after acid etching.LCSM showed the depth of penetration was approximately 7.2um,63 um,18.5um,7.8um;SEM combined with EDS observe the interface morphology of etched enamel-infiltrated resin composites formation of long chain-like structures with dense resin protrusions.2.Mechanical properties of etched enamel-infiltrated resin composites AFM showed the surface of the permanent enamel and etched enamel-infiltrated resin composites were absorbed for 2h,and the surface evenly covered a layer of smooth,rounded protrusions;the average roughness values before and after adsorption were 361.0±114.1,430.8±152.3,152.1±64.1,111.8±66.6 respectively;Young's modulus values of the samples showed an increasing trend.3.Tribological properties of etched enamel-infiltrated resin composites Prior to saliva treatment,the etched enamel-infiltrated resin composite has a high coefficient of friction(COF).Under the same load of 3N,the wear rate of human permanent enamel and etched enamel-infiltrated resin composite before saliva treatment was lower than that after saliva treatment.After the saliva adsorption treatment,the wear scar surface of the eroded enamel-infiltrated resin composite and the permanent enamel exhibited the width of the wear scar was small,lighter,and unclear;the surface damage was reduced.Conclusion: 1.The human enamel was etched for 10 min,the penetration depth of the etched enamel-infiltrated composite was about 63 um,under which condition the penetration morphology are the best.2.Human enamel and etched enamel-infiltrated resin composite were formed on saliva adsorption film after 2h adsorption;sample surface roughness compared to before saliva adsorption are reduced;and on the nanoscale,compared to saliva before adsorption Young's modulus increases.3.The tribological test shows the friction coefficient of the permanent enamel and the etched enamel-infiltrated resin composite after saliva adsorption is reduced,while the abrasion marks of the permanent enamel and the etched enamel-infiltrated resin composite after saliva adsorption are relatively slight.The etched enamel-infiltrated resin composite has a certain wear resistance.
