| ObjectivePlasma levels of hydrogen sulfide(H2S)and soluble growth stimulation expressed gene 2(sST2)in patients with heart failure(HF)and non-HF patients were measured,their relationship and clinical significance were discussed.MethodsFrom May 2017 to November 2017,85 patients hospitalized in our hospital were selected.According to left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),HF patients were divided into 2groups,including HF with reduced ejection fraction(HFrEF)group(30 cases)and HF with preserved ejection fraction(HFpEF)group(26 cases).In addition,29 non HF patients hospitalized in the same period were selected as control group.Extract venous blood from selected objects,levels of H2S and sST2 patients were measured in each group,and measure NT-ProBNP,blood routine and biochemical indexes;The left ventricular end diastolic volume(LVEDV),left ventricular end systolic volume(LVESV)and LVEF were measured by echocardiography;the general clinical data of age,sex,body mass index,diabetes,hypertension,etc.were recorded in detail.Finally,a statistical method was used to compare the differences between each group.Results The levels of H2S in HFrEF,HFp EF and control groups were 71.7+11.4pg/mL,73.9+11.8pg/m L and 73.7+11.0pg/mL,respectively,and there was no significant differe nce between the three groups(P>0.05).The contents of sST2 in HFrEF,HFp EF and contro l group were 52.4(36.2,84.8)ng/ml,34.2(19.8,62.3)ng/ml,21.8(15.1,30.2)ng/ml,and there we re significant differences in each group(P<0.05).The contents of NT-proBNP in HFr EF,H FpEF and control group were 7010(1315,3865)pg/mL,1784(1142.7,4110)pg/mL,260.5(188.5,367.5)pg/m L,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The area under the ROC curve of sST2 in the group HFrEF was 0.812,and the area under the ROC curve o f sST2 in the HFp EF group was 0.714;the area under the ROC curve of NT-proBNP in all HF patients was 0.961,and the area under the ROC curve of sST2 was 0.767,and th e difference between them was significant.Both NT-proBNP and sST2 were non normal d istribution.The use of Spearman correlation analysis showed that there was no correlation between NT-pro BNP and sST2(r=0.116,P<0.54)in the patients with HFrEF group(r=0.116,P<0.54),and NT-proBNP and sST2 were not related in the patients of group HFpEF.Conclusions1.There is no significant difference in the level of H2S between HF and non HF patients,which can not be used to distinguish between HF and non HF patients.2.The difference of sST2 expression between HFrEF group and HFpEF group indicates that there may be different pathophysiological mechanisms between them.Positive correlation between sST2 and NT-proBNP in HF patients.3.sST2 and NT-proBNP can both be used for the diagnosis of HF,NT-proBNP is better than sST2. |
