Objective Investigating and assessing overall health risk among young and middle-aged floating population of urban village in Xi'an,the correlation between the floating time,self-reported health and overall health risk and each dimension of young and middle-aged floating population were analyzed. Methods This study adopted the convenience sampling method to select the floating population that aged18-40 years from September 2016 to March 2017 at Yuhua Village Community Health Service Center in Xi'an.The survey used the "Chinese Health Risk Appraisal Questionnaire(V1.0)" that was compiled and established by China to collect their information. That health risk model corresponded to the questionnaire was used to assess overall health risk.646 valid questionnaires were collected, the recovery efficiency of 97%.A multivariate linear regression model with controlling confounding factors(gender, age, marital status, highest education level, employment status, per capita annual household income, and medical insurance)was established to analyze the relationship between the floating time,self-reported health and overall health risk and each dimension. Results In the multiple linear regression analysis after adjusting for sex, age, marital status, education level, career, income and medical insurance showed that:(1)a shorter floating time of floating population has higher overall health risk and greater mental stress(?=-0.233,P=0.004;?=-0.077,P<0.001).(2)the poorer self-reported health of floating population is associated with higher scores on overall health risk, physical measurement, dietary habits and personal and family history(?=2.871,P<0.001;?=0.155,P=0.004;?=0.049,P=0.040;?=0.965,P<0.001),greater mental stress(?=0.528,P<0.001)and worse social support(?=0.095,P<0.001).DiscussionA shorter floating time of floating population was related with higher overall health risk and mental stress,so we should strengthen health concerns and psychological counseling of young and middle-aged floating population with shorter floating time.Self-reported health was significantly and positively related to the group's overall health risk and physical measurement, dietary habits, personal and family health history, mental stress, and social support.Self-reported health has a better predictive value for overall health of young and middle-aged floating population, that can be used as an effective indicator of health assessment in public health departments.
