| Objective: This retrospective study aimed to investigate obstetric outcomes and newborn health condition after assisted reproductive therapy, and to assess its safety of the therapy. Methods: Retrospective study. We recruited a total of 241 cases who were treated by IVF/ICSI from February 2010 to January 2016,with a successful pregnancy, and delivery in the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University. We analyzed the impacts on pregnancy and labor complications and neonatal outcomes of basic status of patients, factors of infertility and treatment option of fertility ect.Results:(1)A total of 241 patients were collected, including 180 cases term deliveries(74.69%)and 61 cases premature deliveries(25.31%).205 cases of cesarean section(85.1%);There were 171 cases of single pregnancy(70.95%)and 70 cases of multiple pregnancies(29.05%).(2)There were 310 neonates,98 cases of preterm neonates(31.61%),86 cases of low birth weight infant(27.74%)and 14 cases macrosomia(4.52%);the sex ratio is approximately 0.987;A total of 4 cases of birth defects(1.3%).(3)Pregnant women with Polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS)were more likely to have gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)and premature rupture of membrane(PROM);And the hypertensive disorders complicating pregnancy, premature rupture of membrane, postpartum hemorrhage and preterm birth were likely to occur in pregnant women who were multiple pregnancy.(4)There was no statistical difference in pregnancy complications between IVF-ET group and ICSI-ET group. There was no significant difference in pregnancy complications between the fresh embryo transfer group and the frozen-thawed transfer group.(5)The rate of low birth weight was lower in the single pregnacy group(6)There was no statistical difference in birth weightand sex of offspring between IVF-ET group and ICSI-ET group, and the same as that between fresh embryo group and frozen embryo group. Conclusion :1.The rate of preterm birth, multiple pregnancy and cesarean section after ART were increased.2.The incidence of GDM and PROM in the PCOS group was increased.3.Multiple pregancy increased the incidence of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy,PROM,postpartum hemorrhage, preterm birth, and the low birth weight.4.IVF/ICSI-ET and fresh/frozen embryo transfer had no effect on pregnancy and labor complications, the birth weight and the sex of newborns. |
