A Study On Phonology Of Zhengzitong

Zhenzitong by Zhang Zilie is a dictionary about phonetic notation and explain the meanings during the late Ming Dynasty.In this book there are many of the citation,and reflect a strong sense of justification.It became a important reference book with zihui(??)when scholars were whirting The Dictionary of Kangxi.As it has academic value in many aspects like philology,exegesis,phonology,bibliography etc,so the study of this book started from the early of Qing Dynasty.A Japanese buddhist monk called Shikeran(???)whote a paper about the version and auther problems of Zhengzitong.This paper tried to study the pronunciation of book that is generally omitted in other studies.This paper used the book published by Woker Press of China in 1996,which was first appeared in Kangxi years.First Using the computer to create a database,including build excels and create an access system.Then Using the method of connection analysis to classify initials vowel and tones in Zhengzitong.Comparing the status of the same word between Zhengzitong and Guangyun(??)is also a very necessary method to analysis the phonemic system in this book.As a result of connection analysis 14682 words,this paper got 20 kinds of initials,21kinds of vowel and 5 kinds of tones.The characters of initials are including voiced changed into devoiced;ying(?)yun(?)yi(?)yi(?)mixed;Gear head and Spur gear mixed;Up of the tongue and Spur gear mixed.The characters of vowel are including appeared zhe(??)and shi(??);Closed vowels mixed;still exist rushengyun(???).The main character of tones is pingsheng(??)has evolved into the high and level tone(??)and the rising tone(??).
