Arthur Miller is an outstanding realistic writer in the United States.His masterpiece death of a salesman is a masterpiece of realism,which occupies an important position in the history of Western drama.Death of a salesman in the tone of realism into the expressionist art practices,which makes the play has a notable characteristic of Expressionism.This paper focuses on the play of the expressionism factors,on the basis of analysis expressionist drama factors the causes and significance.This thesis is divided into two parts.The introduction mainly studies the academic achievements of this drama,and puts forward some new problems on the basis of the former results.The first part analysis the factors of Expressionism death of a salesman,this drama,from the mind of the technique,the type of characters,clever stage setting,systematically analyzes the Miller in the creation of death of a salesman,penetration into expressionism element.The second part analyzes the formation of Expressionism death of a salesman elements in reason and significance.The forming significance has carried on the discussion from three aspects: effect of expressionism thought influence,the United States expressionist dramatists and theatre movement,deeply discussed the influence of Miller is subject to a variety of expressionism expressionist factors of death of asalesman.On the "expressionist" death of a salesman "factors in significance,mainly from the content and form of the two is discussed.The conclusion stresses that the death of a salesman is a department on the basis of realism with the works of expressionism,it of modernistic drama produced profound influence.
