Indian-English writer Salman Rushdie was one of the greatest writers among the contemporary British literary arena. His second fiction Midnight's Children, published in 1981 has won Booker Prize twice. Because of the original topics and unique structure of Midnight's Children, the fiction which break through traditional forms of western novel, combine reality, fiction, magic realism and histoy together with myths, fables, popular culture and social reality. The plots arranging is changeful and fascinating.There are a great number of aspects of narratology studies while this paper mainly analyzes from narrative stratification, narrative perspective and narrative time. The analytic object of this paper is Midnight's Children and its theoretical bases comes from Zhao Yiheng. And this paper aims to make tentative study of text analysis combining with theory. This paper main contents three parts:First, the introduction part. This part introduces Salman Rushdie and his main works, the synopsis of Midnight's Children, domestic and international studies of Salman Rushdie and his Midnight's Children. Chapter one will focus on the narrative stratification of Midnight's Children, and explore the inheritance and innovation in Midnight's Children from traditional Indian Envelope Narrative structure. Chapter two analyzes from the angle of narrative intervention. This paper aims to find out the function of narrative intervention in Midnight's Children. Chapter three mainly studies on narrative perspective which may reveal narrator's identity. Chapter four puts its emphasis on narrative time. Rushdie has applied the strategy of non-linear narrative time, from the aspects of order and length.The conclusion part summarizes the analysis process, and explore the significance of narrative subject.
