Getting The Inspiration Of Animation Character Design From The Line Modeling Of Chinese Painting From The Artworks Of Zikai Feng And "Monk And Fish"

China has five thousand years of history and culture,and the rich culture,diverse and colorful art form is being followed closely by the world,and Chinese painting is one of them,and it is one of the representatives of the traditional Chinese elements. At first,people painted on silk in the Warring States Period,after that,the landscape paintings became the sort of Chinese painting,then the bird-and-flower painting became very popular,and the Chinese painting combined with western art,all of them,the line modeling of Chinese painting was developing all the time. Animation,a vibrant thing,it develops in the west at beginning,and now it takes root and flourish in the Chinese cultural land. Though the Chinese animation achieves a lot of achievements throughout its history development and was once leading the world,but now it develops so slowly,especially the Chinese two-dimensional animation. In the terms of preferences the animation character design,we see nothing about Chinese culture,and contain less of the representatives of the traditional Chinese elements. One has became world-famous cultural treasures,yet,one is always imitating the western styles,and only few native elements in it. So Chinese animation develops so slowly now.In view of the above questions,this paper will take the artworks of Zikai Feng and "The Monk and the Fish" for example,and analyze the creative concept,the painting characteristics and the esthetic interest in the artworks of Zikai Feng and "The Monk and the Fish",also,we will compare the difference between them,in order to find some content that can be of some help to character design from it,then character designer can draw inspiration from it so that they can create the real animation character that belongs to Chinese characteristics,all these can help Chinese animation be more and more vibrant.
