The Secret History of the Mongols is one of the most important historical books of Mongolians in 13th century.In this thesis, two English translations of The Secret History of the Mongols are introduced, one is translated by Cleaves Woodman, and the other is translated by Onon Urgonge. The author chooses the two famous English translations to study and compare the words which related to Mongolian life and culture.The essay is composed of five parts which are the introduction, the main part which contains two chapters, summary, references and the acknowledgments.In introduction, are introduced the writer, time and the influence of the English translations.In chapter one, are introduced the English translations of The Secret History of the Mongols. Furthermore the writer studied the impact and the influence of the English translations on the future research of The Secret History of the Mongols.In chapter two, are compared the words related to the Mongolian life and culture in the English translation of Cleaves and the English translation of Onon Urgunge.In summary, the author summarizes the main idea of the whole thesis and states the writer's own ideas about the study.
