| China has experienced rapid economic development, so its role in the international community is growing. The press conference with Premier Li Keqiang, held by the Chinese Foreign Ministry in 2013, provides global media sources with a platform to know Chinese government’s new policies and communicate with the Chinese premier directly.Departing from the interdisciplinary viewpoint, this thesis applies the communicative contextual adaptability to the press conference interpretations from Premier Li Keqiang in 2013. As an embranchment of the Adaptation Theory, the communicative contextual adaptability contains three branches, namely the mental, social, and physical worlds adaptation. By analyzing the interpretations in these three branches, the thesis abundantly demonstrates the feasibility of the communicative contextual adaptability to press conference interpretations. Pursuant to the discussions, the researcher draws conclusions. In the mental world interpretations, cognitive and emotive elements have significant influences on making linguistic choices. While doing the social world interpretations, interpreters are supposed to conform to the communicative regulations under the fixed social setting. Culture, belief, custom, and value could not be ignored. In the physical world interpretations, it could be seen that people keep differentiated way to convey temporal and spatial references, so the interpretations are expected to adapt to the interlocutors’ physical worlds. The thesis consists of five chapters.
