V. S. Naipaul is a writer who grew under a multicultural background, and he is of Indian descent and he was born in Trinidad, accepted British education and settled in England. The complex growing experience resulted in alienation in his works. The main tone of Naipaul's writing is alienation wandering, writing on the subject shows distinct characteristics of the diaspora. This thesis mainly uses the post-colonial theory, trying to go through the works (Miguel Street?A House Of Mr Biswas? An Area of Darkness?India:A Wounded Civilization, India:A Million Mutinies Now?The Enigma of Arrival),which corresponded with three countries, Trinidad, the United Kingdom and India respectively as the research objects. Based on a close reading of the text, V. S. Naipaul discusses diaspora writing themes to explore reasons of his confusion of home ownership and identity and his work style, reveal the practical significance of Naipaul's works. At first, this thesis, analyzes the Miguel Street and A House Of Mr Biswas, two works of the content and the narrative angle of view, draws the colonial history is a history of being suspended, the folly of postcolonial homestead obscures the historical truth, boundaries between truth and fiction of are fuzzy. Secondly, it talks about Naipaul's pursuit of self identity in reality. From the novel to travel note, from Trinidad to India, homes and the concept are in the An Area of Darkness?India:A Wounded Civilization?India:A Million Mutinies Now, three works from fuzzy become clear and the fuzzy. From the perspective of the East, India is not the place to establish the identity of Naipaul, from the fiction, to face the reality of the former colony that the mother state caused his real anxiety. Finally.Naipaul's anxiety does not eliminate, no sense of belonging and identity confusion will always be accompanied with him. Real and fictional mixed The Enigma of Arrival is of Naipaul's life review, from his growth to writing is invariably permeated with flying. The structure of this thesis to flying as a clue, framework discusses Naipaul's writing with specific characteristics of "history suspending, cultural rootless" "quest for identity" "identity". Starting from Naipaul, trying to think about the fate of ethnic minority writers like him their survival is a reflection of the post colonial situation;their creation is a balance power between eastern and Western culture.
