The Constructionalization And Constructional Changes Of "You" Existential Construction In Chinese

At about the time that Shang Shu,Lun Yu completed,the form "NP+You+NP" is almostly used as possessive construction - "NP1+You1+NP2".The NP1 is of high degree of life,and we marked it NPanimated. Thanks to the analogical thinking,the collocational range of NP1 has broaden under the high frequency use of NPanimated.Then,there appeared a new semantic type about "NP+You+NP": "NPno-animated+You1+NP2". The "NPno-animated+You1+NP2" has played an important role in the constructionalization of "You" existential construction in Chinese:in the language network of "NP+You+NP",the range of life of the first NP affect the possessive relationship at different degrees.The level of abstraction of the later NP influence the existence of object.When NPi is unanimated noun phrases,the possessive relationship between NP1 and NP2 become loosed.Furthermore,at the pre-Qin period,the locative noun has the same form with concrete thing noun which provide a basis for that possessive construction neoanalyzed as existential construction.So,there exist a semantic type - [[NP1+You1/2+NP2](?)[NP1 possessNP2] or [there existNP2 in NP1]] that has two types of meanings.Both NP1 and NP2 affect the formation of existence meaning and NP1 is more imortant.On this basis, when NP2 is noun phrase of concrete,"NP+You+NP" inclined to express the meaning of existence. When NP2 is noun phrase of abstraction, it's hard to stimulate the existence meaning of "NP+You+NP".After Zhuang Zi completed, "NPno-animated+You+NPconcrete" gradually generated a new form - "NPlocative+You2+NP" that regular express existensive meaning, which seperated from possessive construction.It's to say, the links between nodes in the network of "NP+You+NP"recombine, and there generate a new node "NPlocative+You2+NP" in "NP+You+NP".The existential construction is used to express the location of object.With the development of the locative phrase, "You"existential construction in Chinese has experienced constructional changes. In Western Han Dynasty,locative phrase separated from concrete noun phrase, the form "NPlocative+You2+NP" regularly express the existential meaning.Since the beginning of the Wei and Jin Dynasty, "NPlocative+You2+NP" has expanded in syntax,semantic and pragmatics. Since then, "You"existential construction has generated it's own radiation area in "NP+You+NP" network, and divided into several micro-existential construtions.
