Imperial examination system was one of the most important official selection method, regional examination was the primary examination in Imperial examination system.Regional examination appeared in the Sui Dynasty for the first time, but it was a small-scale examination in Sui and Tang dynasties, and did not form customization. During the Song Dynasty, the regional examination has been great developed, it is far ahead of other dynasties before both in scale and influence. In the Song Dynasty, the imperial examination include regional examination, the national examination,and the the palace examination, the regional examination is made in the Song Dynasty imperial examination of the first stage of the examination, the majority of the Song Dynasty scholar could take part in the national examination only if they had through the regional examination.In this paper, through the collection, compare, analyze, organize and induction of historical data, and divide this paper into three parts on the study of regional examination in Song Dynasty. First study the exam time,the palace to take qualification for the scholars, the appointment of examiners,the conditions that Scholars should obtain to take part in regional examination,the distribute of quota,the cheating questions and the exempted questions.There were many questions in the regional,the Song Dynasty had taken a lot of reforms around the palace to take qualification for the scholars, the appointment of examiners, the distribute of quota,the cheating questions and the exempted questions.,but because it had a lot of examination rooms and was limited by the technological level,there were still high acceptance rate,too much fraud, recruit unfair and other questions exsit.second, study the scope of the subjects in regional examination,the characteristics that the examiner setting themes,the characteristics that scholar answer questions and how to look over examination paper in regional examination of Song Dynasty.Because there were too much scholars and how to set themes were limited,the examiners often improve the difficulty level of the regional examination In order to increase the elimination rate,therefore,the scholars often write strange articles In order to be selected. Although regional examination tried to take a standardized selection of examiners, standardized grading procedures and other measures to improve the justice of setting themes and marking, but due to the small range of setting themes, a number of the examination rooms,a strong subjective and no standardized on setting themes and marking.There were still setting themes questions,marking questions exsit in regional examination.final,study the characteristics and the influence on society of the regional examination in Song Dynasty,the quota of the regional examination in Song Dynasty is higher than before,so,it had a great attraction to scholars,and led to the number of people increased in the Song Dynasty society,and promoted the development of culture, education and printing.This paper will describe how was the regional examination organized as far as possible from these there aspects.
